Over the course of developing projects for our clients, we often come to recognize an unmet need for a particular OEM tool or component that would greatly simplify some aspect of the clients project. When appropriate, we will undertake the cost to design and develop the product and provide it as an OEM end-product directly to the client. This ensures both that we have a market for the product and that the client gets a product that meets his needs.

In addition to the above, our existing products are subject to modification in order to meet a clients needs, allowing us to leverage existing technology for new applications.

Two such products are the CAN-VCCM which is both an OEM and stand alone product as well as our CAN -Cookie which is purely an OEM product. Both are described below:

CAN-VCCM

The CAN-(V)irtual (C)ircuit and (C)ommand (M)odule is an interface module that provides connectivity between a CAN bus and a RS232 serial link. The CAN-VCCM operates in one of two modes: VC (Virtual Circuit) or CM (Command Mode).

In the VC mode, the unit provides a transparent interface between RS232 devices over a CAN network, implementing a bi-directional and full-duplex link (virtual circuit).

In the CM mode, the unit accepts ASCII messages on the RS232 port and transmits them onto the CAN bus as valid CAN messages. CAN messages received from the CAN bus are converted into ASCII messages and are output to the RS232 ports. This mode provides maximum versatility and access to the CAN network.

CAN Cookie

The CAN-Cookie module provides a single-board, plug-in style, computer that aids in the rapid development of CPU based systems. By providing all the basic CPU logic and integrating commonly required peripheral features on a small form-factor board, engineers can save valuable time when developing new CPU based applications.

With the advent of the Motorolla MC68HC912D60 micro-controller, many new formerly unavailable applications become possible. Due to the large amount of on-chip memory, analog-to-digital converters, FLASH, EEPROM, RAM, UARTS, and CAN modules, the MC68HC912D60 is ideal for real-time control applications.

One of the key features of this board that distinguishes it from the rest is that it has A/D, D/A, Digital I/O and CAN functionality all on one module, eliminating the need to add on external components.
